Christmas Without Christ?

There is a concerted effort in our land to excise all mention of Jesus from our public life. "We wish you a merry season"?

The tortured machinations of political correctness have government officials and school administrators looking for ways to create a festive environment without the reason for the season . . . a birthday party in which the One whose birth we celebrate is not allowed to be mentioned by name.

What is the answer? It is the same answer that has always made sense. It falls to families to celebrate Jesus. It falls to parents and elders to tell the truth to the little ones about who Jesus is and why He came to be born in this manner. It falls to His church to hold forth the Word of truth in every generation, even a generation seemingly bent on ignoring Him.

I think that some things are timeless--especially the look of wonder on a child's face as they sing His praise.
