Finally . . ..

At long last, we are on the eve of one of the most pivotal elections of our lifetime. I don't know about you, but my brain is saturated. I don't think I can take in any more information.

  • We have been harangued.
  • We have been inundated.
  • We have been courted, wooed and manipulated.

And so it comes down to this. We get to exercise a right that is at once both a precious privilege and a heavy responsibility. I have no patience with people who say it doesn't matter whether we vote. The last presidential election put that myth to rest.

Throughout this election season, I have sought to address the issues of the day that have profound theological and moral overtones: same sex marriage, stem cell research, and partial birth abortion to name a few.

I urge you to do the following:

  1. Get Biblically informed about these issues. Does the Lord say anything about a man lying with a man and a woman lying with a woman? What does He say about it?
  2. Partial birth abortion and embryonic stem cell research both make assumptions about the nature and value of God's created order. If such things continue, the Lord will have no choice but to judge our nation.
  3. The two candidates have clearly expressed their positions on these issues.
  4. Find out which one will govern in accordance with righteousness.
  5. Vote your conscience.
