Sturm, Ruger Introduces P95TM Pistols With Picatinny Rails
Sturm, Ruger Press Release
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is proud to announce the introduction of four new Ruger P95 pistols. Attendees of the 134th National Rifle Association Annual Meetings and Exhibits, held April 15-18 in Houston, Texas, were the first to see the new pistols.
Sturm, Ruger was recently awarded a contract for 5000 P95 pistols by the U. S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command. The newest versions of these pistols are even more appealing with their entirely redesigned grip frames.
"We are pleased to offer these new versions of our popular Ruger P95, 9mm pistols," said Sturm, Ruger President, Stephen L. Sanetti. "The new pistols will appeal to shooters looking for enhanced features, reliable performance and outstanding value."
The newest versions of the Ruger P95 pistols have a textured frame, Picatinny style accessory rail and re-contoured rounded trigger guard. The four versions of the enhanced polymer frame Ruger P95 pistols include the P95PR, KP95PR, P95DPR and KP95DPR, covering both manual safety and decock-only versions with either blued alloy steel or stainless steel slides. Ruger P95 9mm pistols feature a four-inch barrel, two 15-round magazines (where allowed) and fixed sights. The new pistols will be available in May 2005.
"We know the shooting public will find this new generation of the P95 pistol very much to their liking," stated Sanetti. "The non-slip texturing on the grip area gives the shooter better control while the subdued texture on the remainder of the frame provides an aesthetically pleasing matte finish. The addition of the Picatinny style rail allows users to easily mount their choice of lights or other aiming devices."
