Sturm, Ruger & Company has been awarded the Golden Bullseye Award for "Shotgun of the Year" from The American Rifleman magazine published by the National Rifle Association.

"We are extremely pleased to receive this award," said Sturm, Ruger President, Stephen L. Sanetti. "As stated, the Golden Bullseye Awards recognize 'products remarkable in terms of innovation, reliability, safety, and for providing shooters and hunters genuine value for their hard-earned dollar.' All these words, 'innovation,' 'reliability,' 'safety' and 'value' have long been part of the lexicon at Sturm, Ruger, and we are genuinely honored to be selected for this recognition."

The Ruger Gold Label has met with unanimous acceptance as one of the most outstanding American-made side-by-side shotguns and a superb value. Conceived and initiated by the late William B. Ruger, Sr., the Gold Label was designed to provide hunters with a quality, lightweight side-by-side field gun. The gun he envisioned had to handle well and weigh less than 6-1/2 pounds, yet retain the look and feel of a classic "round action" English double shotgun costing many thousands of dollars more. Experts agree the Gold Label has achieved Mr. Ruger's intent.

American Rifleman Editor Mark Keefe describes his experience with the Ruger Gold Label by saying, "In the hands, it is an extremely lively gun; in short, the Gold Label has swing. It is lightning fast to the shoulder, but solid and not whippy." Keefe sums up the days of handling and shooting the Ruger Gold Label by saying it is "a side-by-side made of steel and walnut, but that is pure gold."

The Ruger Gold Label is in regular production by Ruger craftsmen, but demand still exceeds supply. For more information on the Ruger Gold Label shotgun and the extensive line of Ruger products and services, vist www.ruger.com.
