Call It the American Spring
Call it what you will, but the cards are so stacked against mainstream America that only a fool cannot see there is potentially a terrible storm on the horizon. Illegal aliens are being allowed to vote to sway elections and we are seeing reliable reports of voting machines switching votes on the eve of a Presidential election. Polls (see http://www.people-press.org/2015/11/23/1-trust-in-government-1958-2015/) show that since 2000 US citizens' faith in their Federal government has declined precipitously.
It is readily apparent to anyone who is unbiased that the mainstream media, unlike their listeners and viewers in "fly over" country (who are still clutching their guns and Bibles), are firmly in the liberal/progressive party camp (95% to 5% based on their political donations). Their blatantly biased reporting of the "news" clearly reflects this fact.
Add the politicized IRS and other Federal bureaucracies (Education, Health and Human Services, Commerce, Energy, HUD, DOT, Labor, Transportation, etc.) and we have a government that regularly ignores the Constitution and the rule of law. Even the Supreme Court, supposedly the protector of the Constitution and individual rights, is totally politicized. President Obama considers the Constitution a flawed document, as do the Clintons.
Given all of the above, there are a few things that average Americans should do to protect themselves from possible anarchy:
First: If you do not have at least one semi-automatic rifle in .223 Remington caliber, buy it now. The reason I suggest .223 is because it is the standard government issue caliber and ammunition is readily available across the country.
Second: Lay in a supply of 1,000 rounds of .223 ammunition for the rifle with at least ten 30-round magazines. Test them all at the range to ensure they feed properly.
Three: Buy a vest or rapid deployment pack to hold your magazines.
Four: If you do not have a reliable semi-automatic pistol in either 9mm, .40 S&W or .45 ACP, buy it now, along with six high-capacity magazines and several hundred rounds of JHP ammunition.
Five: Last, but not least, make sure you have a month's supply of non-perishable food and water, just in case. (As well as a good First Aid kit.)
For the record, I am not a "prepper" and I am not inciting violence or suggesting anyone rise against the government. I am merely a realist who hopes for the best, but prepares for the worst. I do not belong to any radical organizations, unless you consider my life memberships in the DAV and VFW radical.
If the "American Spring" doesn't occur, you will still have a couple of firearms for self defense and target practice at the range. You have nothing to lose by protecting yourself, while you still can.
